X Marks the Future: Second Annual Sales Rally Held to Celebrate New Home Star’s 10-Year Anniversary

By Star Report 2 min read

Chicago, IL - On October 23 to 25, New Home Star hosted its second annual Sales Rally which featured intensive training, recognition, and team bonding on the beautiful beaches of Cancún, Mexico. The unique company-wide event was designed to be a career highlight with an epic three-day experience! This year, it also had another purpose— to celebrate a monumental moment in New Home Star's history.

The theme of the event, ‘X Marks the Future,’ was based on the company’s tenth anniversary, and commemorated the cumulative effort that transformed a small start-up firm into the largest private seller of new homes in America. Highlighting the transition into the next decade, the company also defined a roadmap for expansion and structural changes over the next ten years. “The industry is changing, and if we don’t change with it, we will be left behind,” says Founder, David Rice. “It was exciting to announce our commitment to doubling down on our development of proprietary technology, fostering new leaders, and delivering superior value for new home buyers.”

The firm also updated its vision statement from “Building the Best New Home Sales Team” to “Building the Best New Home Sales Company,” reflecting the shift in resource allocation beyond sales operations and into emerging technologies.

The three-day initiative also included several workshops presented by a wide variety of New Home Star’s seasoned industry experts and executives. “This year, the focus of our training was on two topics,” says Director of Organizational Learning, Aaron Wagner. “Our primary focus was to provide the latest in new homes sales best practices, but we also realize that the landscape is changing in major ways. We also spent a significant amount of time on staying relevant over the next decade, and what our agents can do to stay on top.”

There were many other highlights from the retreat including a Safari-themed award ceremony that recognized our top performers of the last 12 months, an intense team building event, the X Games, and a dreamy evening under the stars that captured the goals of our team for the next ten years of excellence.

“To have our team united again means so much, for so many,” says Keith McKinney, VP of Organizational Learning. “We started in the very heart of the recession, and have been able to create an award-winning team that truly cares about their success in this organization. I look forward to the future and I'm humbled to have so many amazing individuals share the same dream.”
