New Home Star Donates Over 200 Toys to Children in Need

By Star Report 1 min read

Chicago, IL - From December 1-14, New Home Star hosted its annual company-wide holiday initiative — donating over 200 toys in the process. Team members nationwide were encouraged to spread holiday cheer in two ways: by decorating model homes with seasonal style and by showcasing their festive home decor. Utilizing its sales enablement platform, New Home Connect™, employees posted pictures using a specific hashtag. For each submission, the company would donate a toy to a child in need during the holiday season.

“The difference that we’re able to make with our Holiday Cheer contest is extremely impactful,” says Director of Marketing, Chris Laskowski. “We set a record with the number of toys we were able to donate this year, and it’s all because of the participation by team members nationwide.” With hundreds of posts created using the catchphrase ‘Holiday Cheer’ and many pictures captured of team members spreading the holiday spirit, New Home Star donated 200 toys, including a Nintendo Switch, to the Toys for Tots Program.

“This is one of the most unique initiatives we host as we’re able to assist in providing a special holiday season for families in need, which is such a joyful experience for everyone involved,” says Assistant Marketing Manager, Erin Henderson. Each year, New Home Star partners with its local fire station in Elmhurst to serve as the drop-off location for the toy donation. The organization is already looking forward to continuing this tradition next year and staying true to its core value of giving in meaningful ways.
