5 Tips to Have a Successful Experience at IBS 2015
Heading to Vegas for IBS 2015? There are some things you should know before you arrive that will help make you maximize your experience and time at the conference. With three days packed with exhibitors, products and information, we want you to be prepared for what's to come! Check out these five tips for a successful experience at IBS 2015.
1. Have a schedule ready before you arrive
Even if you aren't a planner by nature, you will have to try your best to before you arrive at IBS. The "go with the flow" mentality is a good one to have, but a solid outline of what you hope to accomplish during the event is key to being successful and making the most of your time. This event is not the kind that you can simply put 50% of your time and effort into. With three jam-packed days of workshops, networking and showcases, utilizing the IBS 2015 website as a resource is key to planning ahead. Set your "out of office" e-mail and voicemail reminders and be ready to work. Even better, check out the planning guide available on the IBS 2015 website for even more assistance in making each day go smoothly.
2. Research the workshops and products you are interested in
There are over 1,700 exhibitors at IBS, and with that much to see, you should go in with an idea of what you are most interested in. Unfortunately, there are far too many exhibits to engage with them all. That's why we suggest picking ones ahead of time that relate to your needs. A lot of these exhibitors have a variety of personnel on staff that can answer any of your questions. It's a wise choice to set meeting times, dates and locations, that way you can get all the information you need. Maximize your time there by bringing a team with you so that you can accomplish way more than just one person alone could.
3. Sign up to receive updates and news
Most of the exhibitors are tuned in with the tech world. From social media to e-mail and even texts, lots of debuts and updates will be sent out during IBS. Make sure you are a part of it! Check out websites beforehand and follow the social media channels of companies you know will be there. This way, you know you are getting the most up-to-date information about that company and what they are doing at IBS.
4. Be ready to learn
Before you can succeed in any industry, you must be ready and willing to learn. IBS is an opportunity to connect and educate yourself like no other and learn from some of the best in the industry. Go in with an open mind and remember that the more closed off you are, the less you will take away from the event. All three days can help you to expand your knowledge base. And whether you are bringing your entire office or not, there is so much you can bring home to share. Make the trip worth your while.
5. Think energy and comfort You will be walking..a lot. Be prepared with the shoes you wear and be ready to do a lot of standing. Waiting in lines, meeting and not too much seating can tire you out and make you hungry. Be sure to throw a granola bar in your bag for the day or have planned lunch times for you and your colleagues. This is why it behooves you to plan ahead, down to your meals. Know that you will be tired and that this isn't a vacation, it's still work!
